About us
Senior Specialist Collective Union (SSCU) was founded in 2024 by former managers in response to operational restructuring at Berlitz Japan. These changes led to reduced pay, increased job insecurity, and deteriorating working conditions.
We represent all non-instructional employees—from Sales and HQ to IT and LC staff. Our mission is to advocate for:
- Fair wages
- Reasonable working hours
- Safe and respectful workplaces
- Job security across all departments
- SSCU is proudly organized under the National Union of General Workers Tokyo.シニア・スペシャリスト・コレクティブ・ユニオン（SSCU）は、ベルリッツ・ジャパンにおける業務再編に対応する形で、元管理職によって2024年に設立されました。これらの変化により、給与の減少、雇用の不安定化、労働環境の悪化が引き起こされました。私たちは、営業部門や本社、IT部門、ラーニングセンター（LC）スタッフなど、教育業務以外のすべての従業員を代表しています。私たちの使命は、以下の権利を擁護することです：公正な賃金適正な労働時間安全で尊重される職場環境全部門における雇用の安定SSCUは、全国一般労働組合東京支部のもとで誇りを持って組織されています。

Current Demands
We are actively campaigning for:
- A 2.5% base salary increase, retroactive to January 2024
- Full compensation for all overtime, retroactive to January 2024
- Increased staffing in Instruction and Field Support
- Paid collective bargaining meetings during business hours
- Commute time over 60 minutes to be counted and paid as work time
- A renegotiated contract including:

An 8-hour workday
A new performance evaluation system
Additional improvements to working conditions私たちは現在、以下の要求に向けて積極的に活動しています：2024年1月に遡って適用される、基本給2.5%の引き上げ2024年1月以降のすべての残業に対する完全な補償教育部門およびフィールドサポート部門の人員増強勤務時間内に行われる団体交渉会議への有給付与通勤時間が60分を超える場合、その時間を労働時間として計上・支給また、以下を含む契約の再交渉も求めています：完全なリモートワークの選択肢1日8時間の労働時間制度新しい業績評価制度

On August 4th, SSCU announced its right to strike from August 8th through to August 11th in response to Berlitz’s unwillingness to compromise or bargain on any of the union's demands. Union members actively picketed in front of Berlitz Shinjuku LC on all 4 days.8月4日、SSCUは、ベルリッツが組合の要求に対して一切妥協や交渉を行わない姿勢を受けて、8月8日から11日までの間、ストライキ権を行使することを発表しました。組合員は4日間すべてにわたり、ベルリッツ新宿ラーニングセンター前で積極的にピケを張りました。
